Terms of use (Nutzungsbedingungen)

1. Provider and scope

date-a-book is provided by relevantive GmbH, Pappelallee 78/79, 10437 Berlin (“we”). These terms apply to the website and the apps. The service is free of charge and currently in a test phase: features may change or be withdrawn.

2. Account

  • You must be at least 18 years old.
  • One account per person; keep your login to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
  • Use a name you are comfortable showing to other members. It does not have to be your legal name.

3. Your content

  • You keep the rights to your notes, messages and photo. You grant us the non-exclusive licence to store and display them within the service, and on share pages you create, for as long as they are there.
  • Be honest and kind. No harassment, hate, threats, spam, advertising, impersonation, or content that is illegal or infringes others’ rights. No sharing of other members’ content outside the app without their consent.
  • Book rooms are shared spaces: everyone who has the book on their shelf can read them.

4. Safety

You can block members and report members or messages at any time. We may remove content, restrict or delete accounts that violate these terms, without prior notice where necessary. We are not a party to conversations between members and cannot guarantee anyone’s identity or intentions. Take the usual care when meeting people you met online.

5. Availability and liability

We aim to keep the service running but do not guarantee availability, and we may pause or end it. We are liable without limit for intent and gross negligence and for injury to life, body or health; otherwise only for breach of essential obligations, limited to the typical foreseeable damage. Book data comes from third-party sources and may be incomplete or wrong.

6. Ending

You can delete your account at any time in Profile & settings. We may terminate accounts for breach of these terms or when the service ends.

7. Law

German law applies. If you are a consumer, the mandatory protections of your country of residence remain unaffected.
